Richard S. Francis has over thirty-three years of experience in the logistics and transportation industry, and has served as the President and co-owner of GT Worldwide Logistics, Inc. since its inception in August 2007. Since 1999, Mr. Francis has also served as President of R&R Express, Inc., KDK Transport, Inc., and Balkan Express, Inc., which reflect truckload carriers, intermodal, heavy-haul and freight brokers. Under Mr. Francis’ leadership, R&R and its affiliates grew from $5 million in annual sales revenue to current sales exceeding $70 million. Regardless of prevailing market conditions, Mr. Francis’ companies have consistently achieved profitability.
In 2005, Mr. Francis served as the interim president and CEO for XRG, Inc., a $40 million publicly traded truckload carrier and freight broker. XRG posted a $14 million loss prior to Mr. Francis’ involvement, but achieved $1 million in operating profit under his direction the following year. Mr. Francis was CEO of Order Logistics, Inc., a publicly traded supply chain software company, from 2005 until it was sold to Janel World Trade Ltd in October 2007. Mr. Francis graduated with high honors from Penn State University with a degree in Business Logistics.
Robert E. Sapp has served as GT Worldwide Logistics’ Executive Vice President and co-owner since its inception in August 2007. Over fifteen years ago, Mr. Sapp began his career in the transportation industry as a truck driver, and has since performed nearly every function in trucking and logistics. Through his diverse range of experiences, Mr. Sapp has become an expert in freight transportation, particularly in project and heavy-haul logistics.
Robert’s background uniquely prepares him to lead GT Worldwide Logistics, Inc.’s project and heavy-haul division, which focuses on customer-specific requirements and specialized equipment. Relying heavily on Mr. Sapp’s expertise, GT Worldwide Logistics, Inc. has successfully relocated over twenty power plants during the past 24 months. Utilizing his vast knowledge in equipment specifications, DOT regulatory requirements, and personnel coordination, Robert has proven himself to be a true leader in his field.
